Casting Call

So, just for fun, I like to imagine who I would cast in a movie adaptation of the Far Land Trilogy. I thought I’d share my imaginary list with you here. My choices are based upon past roles they’ve played, character mannerisms and attitudes of the characters in some of the roles, interviews I’ve seen them in and some other miscellaneous factors. Where two actors are listed, the first is my dream choice but I’d be happy with the second also. In some, I don’t have a specific actor chosen. Instead, I’ve listed a description of the character and/or an actor who is close. And, of course, for some I have no idea.

Take a look and, if you’ve read the Far Land books, let me know what you think of my choices. Or, if you have other suggestions, let me know those too.

Jason Bennett: Description – 5’10” – 6’1”+ (HS basketball player) Respectful when needed, but can be a bit of a smartass at times.
Lenai (Shanthi): Anya Taylor-Joy. This is based on her portrayal of the lead character in the movie Morgan. She also said, once, in an interview that she would like to do some more physical parts. Lenai would definitely be physical. Other possibilities: Isabel May or Alycia Debnam-Carey
Bothan McFarland: Liev Schreiber, Ray Stevenson

Chon Artel (Obsidian Loremaster) – Similar to John Rhys-Davies but shorter (must be shorter than Jason)

Brin Jalasar (Ruby Loremaster) – Lean, angular face: Charles Dance type (Tywin Lannister on GoT)

Nyala: Bree Turner, Alexa Davalos When I saw Bree’s character, Rosalee, in the 10^th episode of season 4 of Grimm, I knew she was the one I’d love to see portray the gentle, caring, yet firm and mama-bear Nyala.
